Some raving <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/blog\/seo\/google-rolls-out-reverse-image-search-rip-tineye\/3463\">reviews already praise<\/a> this service as a free, and superior, instrument to Tineye, while others <a href=\"http:\/\/cedrichohnstadt.wordpress.com\/2011\/09\/13\/googles-new-reverse-image-search\/\">underline its usefulness<\/a> in fighting rampant copyright infringement on the internet.<\/p>\n<p>I set out to give it a try, and I am somewhat surprised by the results for my first, particular reverse image search, using an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quisquilia.net\/nova_blog\/wordpress\/fettdurchwachsen-bacon-1148.html\">image of bacon<\/a> I took earlier this month. Apparently Google thinks that &#8212;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1488\" style=\"width: 509px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.quisquilia.net\/nova_blog\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/google_bacon_similes.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1488\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.quisquilia.net\/nova_blog\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/google_bacon_similes.jpg\" alt=\"Bacon similes\" title=\"Bacon similes\" width=\"499\" height=\"325\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1488\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.quisquilia.net\/nova_blog\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/google_bacon_similes.jpg 937w, https:\/\/www.quisquilia.net\/nova_blog\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/google_bacon_similes-300x195.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1488\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bacon similes<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8230;Akina Minami looks like bacon on a bun.<br \/>\n&#8230;Jenna Elfman looks like bacon on a bun.<br \/>\n&#8230;a Dutch amateur model called Lynntjeee looks like bacon on a bun.<br \/>\n&#8230;a crying baby and a cute, little <a href=\"http:\/\/valeriemcintyre.com\/portfolio\/families\">lump of sweetness<\/a> look like bacon on a bun.<br \/>\n&#8230;a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sz-wholesale.com\/uploadFiles\/UserImg\/Member_170333.jpg\">wooden toy kitchen<\/a> looks like bacon on a bun.<br \/>\n&#8230;some jam-filled macarons look like bacon on a bun. (I have to admit, I took them to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burgerrankings.com\/restaurant\/pop-burger\">mini burgers<\/a> which seemed the best approximation so far among Google&#8217;s search results.)<br \/>\n&#8230;pencil shavings look like bacon on a bun.<\/p>\n<p>It certainly looks like a wide array of wild guesses to me.
